This relatively small and hidden beach has nonetheless been discovered by tourists, due to its location between the center of Albufeira and the nightlife district. However, it’s never too crowded. It’s almost exclusively frequented by guests of the hotels nearby and those looking for a quieter atmosphere.
It’s not a wild, deserted beach, however, as it even has a restaurant for drinks, snacks or lunches of seafood and local specialities, open from March to November. In the summer there are lifeguards on duty and a few wicker parasols and loungers for rent.
It’s surrounded by ocher cliffs and rocks, with golden sand and clear water. It’s good for snorkeling and sometimes there are tidal pools formed between the rocks. As indicated by the Blue Flag, you can be sure that the water quality is good. This makes it a child-friendly beach. Unfortunately, it’s not a beach for the disabled, as there is no wheelchair access.
From the pathways over the rocks on both sides are good views over the beach. At low tide, you can also explore different rock formations and tiny coves. It’s worth staying for the sunset.

How to Get to Praia dos Aveiros
The best way to find this beach is to locate the Auramar hotel (see below) and follow the path from there. There is very limited parking in the surroundings. The parking area close to the beach is exclusive of residents and hotel guests. It’s not within walking distance of the center, unless you don’t mind walking for 40 minutes. Alternatively, take the Giro bus (green line) that departs every half hour from the bus station and that stops by Praia da Oura, from where you can walk to this beach (takes about 15 minutes). Beaches by Praia dos Aveiros
Albufeira’s “party beach” (Praia da Oura) is a short walk from this beach, and in less than 10 minutes by car you can be at the beautiful beach of Santa Eulália, further to the east.

Areias Village Beach Suite Hotel
This all-apartments hotel caters to families. It’s a short walk from the beaches of Aveiros and Oura, and from the bars on The Strip. Although guests may prepare meals in their kitchenettes, there’s also a restaurant to enjoy regional cuisine. Outside is a pool surrounded by sunbeds and a bar for cocktails.
