Surrounded by low cliffs and pine and palm trees, this is one of the greenest and most beautiful beaches in Albufeira. It’s popular but usually not as crowded as the famous Praia da Oura to the west and the beaches in the center of town. It’s mostly frequented by tourists staying at the hotels nearby, and can be quite wide at low tide, so there’s plenty of space.
Like most others in town, it’s a Blue Flag beach, meaning it’s clean and safe. The sand is fine and golden, and the water is usually clear and calm. It’s good for swimming, and, as it’s not very deep by the shore, child-friendly. There’s lifeguard supervision in the summer, as well as parasols, sunbeds and boats for rent.
There’s a traditional restaurant specializing in fresh and grilled fish, from where you can admire a view over the beach. For more views, walk over the cliffs.
A boardwalk allows people in wheelchairs to access this beach.
